Bodog is only available in the following countries: Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Chile and Colombia. It shares a player pool with Ignition and Bodog88, and together these sites make up the 3rd largest poker network in the world. The Bodog Network is one of our favourite place to play, and if it weren't for the country restrictions it would be ranked higher on this list. There is around-the-clock cash game action at stakes up to $10/$20 No Limit Hold'em and PLO, and we enjoy the large tournaments they regularly host, including the $100k Guarantee every Sunday ($162 buy-in). The main drawback is that it's not directly compatible with PokerTracker4 or Hold'em Manager, but to be honest that keeps the games soft and full of recreational players.

Unlike the rest of the poker sites on this list, BetOnline accepts US players in addition to ROW players. Let's face it---there are plenty of fish in the United States, so being able to play with them in these juicy games is a treat. In addition to poker, it has a strong sportsbook and casino, which helps bring recreational players over to the poker client. It also offers unusual games such as 32 Card Draw, Americana, and 7 Card Stud, although it can be difficult to find action in those games, especially during off-hours. However, there is still plenty of around-the-clock traffic at No Limit Hold'em and PLO, especially at small stakes. In fact, BetOnline provides the smallest stakes poker anywhere online at its 1 cent/2 cent tables, so if you have a small bankroll this site is a perfect choice. Deposits and Cash Outs are impressively fast, and they offer a generous $2500 sign-up bonus.

FEATURES:

  • Shares a player pool with the US

  • Good action across all stakes from $0.01/$0.02 to $5/$10

  • Sit and Gos and Tournaments from $0.05 buy-in up to $525 buy-in

  • Wide Selection of Games: No Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha, Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Limit Holdem, Limit Omaha, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 32 Card Draw, Americana

  • 100% up to $2500 Sign Up Bonus

  • Fast Cash Outs

  • Highly customizable table themes

  • Excellent moblie app so you can play anywhere!

Unibet is the ultimate poker site for recreational players. It features cartoon-y avatars and smooth software that makes you feel like you're playing a video game while you're playing online poker for real money. Cash games run up to €10/€20, although the only games they offer are Hold'em and Omaha. The main drawback at Unibet is the lack of a robust tournament schedule---they offer regular tournaments with buy-ins of up to €215, but if you are looking to grind tournaments with large guarantees, you are better off playing on a site like Party Poker or Betfair. Third party software like PokerTracker and Holde'm Manager are strictly prohibited here, which helps even the playing field for all players. Unibet offers a €200 Welcome Bonus, as well as a unique "challenges" rewards program: Challenges include things like "make a straight on the flop" and "be dealt 30 pairs", and for each challenge you complete you earn points which you can redeem for cash. If you are mostly just looking to play soft cash games and don't care about using tracking software, Unibet is a perfect choice.

What about Poker Stars?

As you may know, PokerStars is the biggest online poker room, but that does not mean they're the best. Over the past couple years, Stars has broken promises to its loyal players, raised rake, removed rewards for high stakes players, removed heads-up tables, and they continue to focus more and more of their efforts on casino games, and less on poker. Notable professional poker players such as Isaac Haxton and Vicky Coren-Mitchell have broken off their affiliation with the PokerStars, citing Stars' unethical behavior. We at Total Online Poker do not feel comfortable officially promoting them, especially when there are so many better sites to play on.

That said, PokerStars does have the largest tournaments available, including the weekly Sunday Million. Since they are such a large company, you can trust that your funds are safe there. If you do want to play on PokerStars, you should take advantage of the $600 First Deposit Bonus; just click here
